What is an Endowed Professorship?
A gift of $60,000 is matched by $40,000 from the Board of Regents Support Fund to create a $100,000 endowment. Northwestern faculty members can use interest generated by the endowment to conduct research which they bring back to the classroom to enhance instruction. Endowed professorships are very presitigous, and the faculty member who receives such distinction carries the name of the donor's professorship.
