Show your Northwestern Pride and contribute to student scholarships by ordering a Northwestern license plate for your vehicle!
All Louisiana residents may purchase a Northwestern state license plate. Not only does it increase our university's presense and profile throughout the state, funds used to purchase the plate go into the scholarship fund. All but one dollar of the $26.00 fee goes to the scholarship fund.
Ordering your Northwestern license plate is as easy as 1-2-3!
1.) Ask for the Northwestern license plate when you purchase your new vehicle. The cost of the plate is $26.00 above the regular automobile registration fee charged every two (2) years. Your automobile dealer can assist you at the time of your purchase.
2.) Exchange your existing plate for a Northwestern plate. You will be given credit for your existing unexpired registration. Call the Deparment of Motor Vehicles at 225-925-6364 to determine the cost of your new Northwestern license plate.
3.) Send a written request to: Department of Motor Vehicles, P.O. Box 64886, Baton Rouge, LA 70896-4886, for your Northwestern license plate. You will need to include a photocopy of your certificate of registration and a check made payable to the Department of Motor Vehicles for the amount determined in step 2.
