Northwestern's Capital Campaign, "Excellence: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" aims to keep our commitment to excellence by providing funding for scholarships, program enhancements and other projects designed to keep NSU moving forward.  To that end, we have a goal of $25 million.  But there's a twist. We'd like to reach half that amount, $12.5 million, by the end of 2009 in honor of our 125th anniversary.

Funds generated by this campaign will be used to create endowed chairs, endowed professorships and scholarships.  They will also provide support to the NSU Athletic Department, faculty and program enhancements.

NSU currently has more than 300 privately funded scholarships to help students meet the astronomical costs of a college education.  But there are many, many more students who could use scholarship help.

Every Dollar Counts

Like a single grain of sand can help build the strongest rock, every dollar donated to Northwestern State University helps build our region, state and country's future.  In this capital campaign, we are asking every alumnus and friend of NSU to donate a small amount to make a big difference in the lives of students.

If every single alumnus of NSU gave a one-time gift of $12.50 in honor of our school's 125th anniversary, we could raise $1 million.  Now imagine giving $12.50 a month and the impact that would have.  By contributing $12.50 a month, you would become a member of the Excellence Team.

Besides the satisfaction of knowing you helped a student defray the costs of college, another benefit to donating to the "Excellence Fund" is a tax deduction.  Every dollar donated to the NSU Foundation is tax deductible.

Supporters who join the Excellence team will receive a card that entitles them to discounts at merchants in Natchitoches, Louisiana and Texas.  Check back often as merchants are added frequently.  Click here to see a list of participating merchants.
